Tarpon Contracting specializes in industrial coatings that protect critical assets, extend service life, and improve structural performance. Our expertise also includes concrete rehabilitation and expansion joint repairs, helping restore aging infrastructure and ensure long-term integrity. We utilize advanced Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) systems to strengthen and repair critical structures, and provide comprehensive cleaning and decontamination services for reservoirs, piping systems, and water towers, all performed to the highest industry standards for safety and quality.

Project Spotlight: Herridge Feeder Main

Canada's largest CFRP project, the 6 km Herridge Feedermain, faced deterioration after being inactive for 2 years. Rehabilitated using CFRP renewal systems and trenchless techniques, it's now fully operational.

Expansion

Tarpon Contracting is currently on site at the Mill St. Reservoir Expansion, providing specialized concrete restoration and protective coating services. Since mobilizing in late June, our crews have completed extensive surface preparation, including power washing and coving, followed by the application of a multi-coat protective coating system to the reservoir walls. Work remains ongoing as we help protect this critical piece of water infrastructure for years to come.

THE LATEST FROM TARPON

GE Booth Train #3
Rehabilitation

In June, Tarpon Contracting returned to GE Booth Train 3 to continue rehabilitation efforts, focusing on the expansion joint system. The scope included the removal of existing deteriorated caulking, grinding and surface preparation of the joint interfaces, and preparation of the expansion joints to receive new sealant. Proper preparation is critical to achieving bond performance and long-term joint integrity, particularly in structures exposed to constant moisture, chemical exposure, and thermal movement. As with all rehabilitation work, the emphasis remained on thorough preparation and quality installation — ensuring the repaired joints can accommodate movement while helping prevent water intrusion and further deterioration of the surrounding concrete.  Another step completed, with more work still ahead.
